Watch out for fortified cereals!
Boy, am I losing trust in the “system”. Clear sunscreens are actually linked to melanoma as they prevent UVB absorption (thereby vitamin D production in the skin) by fluorescing UVB into the harmful UVA spectrum..yet our government stands back with hands in pockets. But our government ODs us all so that low socioeconomic white women don’t have to take prenatal vitamins.
Folic acid is now in EVERYTHING! PHEW! Just doesn’t add up to my trusting our “system” much!

Thanks for this objective take on recent folic acid concerns.
It’s very apparent that what is intended to benefit babies of women not educated about prenatal care is ending up affecting us all! I don’t like it!
I have been taking a folic acid supplement faithfully for some time now, feeling guilty when I forget to take my multivitamin! I plan to alternate days of taking a multi. now. From what I’ve read whole grain products are less fortified..Yay brown rice and whole grain spaghetti!
