Resolving Shadow Material and Psychological Projections Using Deep Meditation

by on Aug.31, 2011, under Uncategorized

In my family I received a lot of conditioning which brought about my judgement and then disownment of certain normal, healthy tendencies and emotions. I guess it’s the same in pretty much everyone’s family. These injunctions, counter-injunctions and attributions that are passed down and strengthened through generations of our family trees are so influential on young children’s minds, which absorb everything from the actions and behaviour of all-powerful mothers and fathers that they might be compared with the magic spells cast by magicians or sorcerers in a children’s story or film.

These “magic spells” are commonly so influential that the majority of us continue under their power till the day we die, without ever having the chance to break free from the spell or even to see our behavior and enquire as why we hold such perspectives and why we act the way that we do.

It is for this reason that I meditate by using daily a magnificent program called LifeFlow from Project Meditation. It helps me to integrate parts of the self which were disowned because I was told that they were unbecoming when I was young. I was told to “not be sad”, “don’t cry, boys don’t do that”,” do not be ambitious or too big for your boots”, “dont ‘ be angry”, “don’t be sad”, “don’t be fearful” for example.

We then disown such completely normal, healthy features and feelings so as to be safe in our blood family. But they don’t thus vanish. They then appear as “out there” in the environment or other people, or “Shadows” as Dr Karl Jung called them. Then we become our own worst enemy as our own projected energy comes back to clobber us like a boomerang. If we disown our own anger, angry folk are everywhere. Disown our judgement or critical-ness and critical folk are everywhere. Hence a variety of emotional issues ensue. But it’s difficult to see that we do this as it shatters some of our dearest illusions about others and the world.

Meditation is the key to awareness, and awareness is the key to an integrated, healthy personality. I’ve found from years of meditation and another 3 years of really deep meditation using LifeFlow (I acquired this great program after reading an inspirational LifeFlow review), that we can integrate our disowned disowned material through this elevated awareness, and through using great material in books on this subject such as Ken Wilber’s seminal No Boundary and Integral Life Practice.

Brainwave Entrainment and Project Meditation Lifeflow – Deep Meditation for the 21st Century

by on Aug.31, 2011, under Uncategorized

I started studying meditation, yoga and eastern philosophy in my early twenties when life had begun to become rather painful. I used to cope with this emotional discomfort by instinctively repressing and denying it’s existence.

But like an inflated balloon that's squeezed at one end, the other end will pop out, and the energy will come out in some form. The end result of ignoring and rejecting our natural, valid emotions and tendencies is a low-grade sense of unease of some sort and the tendencies will come out by alternative ways anyhow, though in a rather more harmful and dysfunctional way.

The key to the resolution of this unresourceful behaviour is awareness. The great modern Americal thinker Ken Wilber was quoted as saying that “awareness in and of itself is transformative”, and all the numerous studies on people who meditate confirmed his statement.

The best means to accellerate awareness expansion in ourselves is through regular practice of the eastern art of meditation. It’s a bountiful oasis of inner growth to true self-esteem and personal healing.

Brainwave Entrainment is the name given to the practice of using specific types of low-frequency audio tracks, using either stereo headphones or hi-fi speakers, to entrain the brainwaves to those patterns of deep meditation, whether or not you know nothing of how to meditate in the traditional sense. It gives us an exceptional deep meditation every time we use it, whereas conventional meditation methods such as TM (Transcendental Meditation) or Vipassana, produce inconsistent, slower and more labourous results.

The most well-known brainwave entrainment product on today’s market is Holosync. It’s quite an old program but still one of the best. It was developed by Mike Mackenzie in the 90’s, and still to this day leads the market. I started using it it 3 years back after becoming interested in it after watching some Lifeflow review videos on YouTube, and reading about the science-based background of the LifeFlow programme and brainwave entrainment generally. Since then my experiences have only been positive, with few bumps on the road.

As humans we are in a period where personal growth is desirable so as to survive, prosper and gain true contentment in our lives. Awareness is the key to this personal growth and brainwave entrainment one of it’s most magnificent of creators.

Finbarr Darmody writes on personal growth, eastern philosophy and spiritual practice in the modern age. He has once inspired by a Lifeflow review that changed his life forever. He practices daily meditation and is a healer of sorts.

Pollution and a stressful lifestyle greatly contributes to the prevalence of more complicated diseases that plagues modern man. Most common nowadays, more complications arise from new types of diseases that doctors find puzzling since they determine what caused such illness. Medicines and other synthetic drugs also have risks since they can strain the body too with its artificial ingredients.

Healing meditation is a form of meditation that focus on improving the well-being of a person whether physically or emotionally. Healing meditation can relax people that are anxious or nervous since it clears the mind of negative thoughts and emotions. Negative emotions are viewed by eastern medicine as elements that contribute to sickness.

Healing meditation has its origins from Tibetan Buddhism. It has long been known that Tibetan people are attached to the earth and utilize its medicinal benefits through herbal plants. Aside from herbal medicines, they also specialize in meditation which not calms the body but also heal as well. In fact, Tibetan Buddhists developed healing meditation that when effectively used, can help people cope with less pain even with terminal illness such as cancer.

Once a person has began with proper breathing, he can utter a mantra and focus his thoughts on a visualization such as objects in nature. The visualized light can be thought of as a healing ray that heals the sick parts of the body.

Self meditation in essence is about finding your inner peace but there is more to meditation than just finding your inner peace. You can also use meditation to help you in every aspect of your life.

Deep-Breathing Meditation is one of the most effective meditation techniques which enables you to relax and prepare your mind for meditation. This is a varying meditation technique you can use to improve your life. Let us look into this meditation technique and how it can help you in your meditation voyage.

The Deep Breath Meditation is the first technique that all new meditators will be shown. This type of meditation technique involves learning how to breathe and to control your breath during meditation. This technique is sometimes called the Stillness meditation technique.

Learning to use the Deep-Breath Meditation technique will teach you how to control your heart rate, your breathing and also your ability to maintain control over your mind. All of us suffer from brain-chatter where we talk to ourselves. Apart from just controlling our breathing, we can start off using this technique to get control of our mind and body. How to Make Great Yoga Poses

by on Apr.19, 2010, under Uncategorized

The purpose of yoga is to attain a balance of healthy mind and body. Taking it a step further, yoga can be the route to self-enlightenment. Yoga poses focus on a variety of things meditation and relaxation, a good posture, your breathing and flexibility. All of the elements within the practice of yoga can enhance ones physical and mental approach to life. When done properly, yoga can benefit your life in nearly every aspect and it is no wonder why this ancient Indian discipline is still practiced all around the world. If you are just beginning, then you will probably find the following tips for yoga and yoga poses can help to set you off on the right foot.

Your Essential Guide To Yoga

Yoga poses are assessed for their level of difficulty. As a beginner you should pay close attention to the grades on different yoga poses and never rush into doing a pose that looks difficult to perform or that are beyond your current level. Poses such as the downward dog and the child’s pose are great positions for yoga beginners.

If you feel any pains or discomfort when you are doing a pose you should stop immediately and reassess how the pose should be done. Yoga is not about pushing the boundaries and working through pain.

Throughout your yoga practice you should use a yoga specific mat. This is particularly essential for poses where you are lying down or on your knees. A woolen mat is great for any level of yoga, giving optimum comfort, stability and support.

Breathing is a major component to yoga fundamentals. You will need to have control over your breathing during all of the yoga poses. One never breathes the mouth, instead using the nose to take long, deep breaths and learning to use the full capacity of your lungs.

Yoga poses will move your body through a variety of postures and will stretch the muscles. The first tip for any starting yoge is don’t overeat before a practice as this can upset the stomach and cause discomfort. You should also give a little time after your session before you eat something. The general rule is not to after two hours before you plan to practice and only a light meal such as a soup or salad. After, you should wait a minimum of half an hour, again making it a light meal.

If you become tired or uncomfortable whilst doing poses, don’t hesitate to give yourself a break taking a minute or two to concentrate on your breathing before proceeding with the next stance.

It is in common agreement that the best time for you to do yoga is in the morning, a little after you have awoken and before breakfast. This is because your mind is clear and at its most calm, making the task of poses far easier to carry out.

Your choice of clothing will also have an impact on how well you maneuver into different poses. Choose lightweight clothing that fits snug to the body but not too tight that it restricts movement. Cotton is a good material as it allows the body to breathe.
