A Good Deal More You Have To Know Dealing With Food Allergy
by on Sep.24, 2011, under Uncategorized
Almost every family is troubled by allergies especially the ones having children. Dealing with food allergies is a painstaking job for parents if proper diagnosis has not been made. As parents fail to figure out the cause behind the problem so they desperately see the doctors for solution.
Children have tendency to develop food allergy to wheat, fruits, seafood, eggs, milk and nuts especially peanuts. Symptoms to food allergy vary in different children but the common symptoms observed in most of the children with allergies are fainting, swelling, nausea, itching, gasping, abdominal pain etc.
Allergies are not limited to children only; there are a huge percentage of adults that have allergies. Adults may also suffer from sensitivity to various materials, with reactions to dust and smoke being widespread. However, a visit to the hospital emergency room is more than often triggered by an aversion to food than any other reason.
Allergy & intolerance testing
In order to make diagnosis of food allergies, tests like food challenges, skin prick test and blood test are usually carried out. With the help of these tests, a person gets to know about the food items causing allergies so he or she may avoid the intake of that food item.
The widely observed food allergy in terms of food component is protein’s allergy. As protein is an essential food component with high nutritious value, so in case a person is abandoning proteins due to allergy should seek substitutes to balance out the negative effects on health caused by avoiding proteins. People having wheat allergy may develop a disease named coeliac which is a condition characterized by weight loss or failure in weight gain. Children in particular get more affected by this disease. Dieticians and diet guides suggest replacement food items to people with food allergies like goat milk or soy milk can be used as an alternative to cow milk. Likewise poultry products can be used instead of seafood in case of allergy. Rice can be replaced by wheat or other vegetables can be used instead.
Such restricted diets may however be a major cause for drastic weight loss that may leave the body week and fatigued. Especially when one may be allergic to the staple food of the culture they belong to. With the availability of several holistic remedies there is a possibility to live a healthier lifestyle. However several restrictions with food may leave a person frustrated. Children may find it harder to control themselves from the likes of delicious food.

Do You Realize What Causes Back Again Pain?
by on Apr.06, 2011, under Uncategorized
Everyday in this world, there are millions and millions of people young and old who are dealing with back pain The main type of back pain people faces daily is lower back pain. So, what’s the cause of this annoying pain? Is it because all of these people have poor posture? Or, is because these people are lifting too much weight, and are straining their backs? The answer to all of these questions is, simply yes. There are many reasons why people who have never had a serious health problem, are now suffering from back pain.
The number one reason why people suffer from back pain is they sit down too much. People’s bodies are designed to be upright and feels better when you are standing, walking, lying down, or even running. The reason why you experience relief when you stand up is because of this. The bottom line, your body hates bending or when it’s in a position where it’s bending for a long time.
Almost everyone in this world will spend too much time sitting at some point in their lives. Most people in this world cannot avoid this because they have jobs that require them to sit for long periods of time and in some cases people will work and sit in a chair for 40 to 60 hours a week. Then the same people will spend more of their days in their cars commuting back and forth to work, or to other places. When they do arrive home, what’s the first thing people do, they say they are worn out and need to sit down and get a bite to eat. As if that was not enough, they will then make their way to the TV and flop down in front of it, once again sitting down. The people need to wake up and realize, if they want to see any kind of relief in this pain they need to limit the time they spend sitting everyday. Yes of course, this is hard if your job requires you to sit all day in front of a desk, but there are ways you can control the way you sit all day, start by getting up and stretching your back every hour or so. This will help you to loosen up your back muscles, and you’ll start to feel better.
The next step to be taken when trying to eliminate back pain has to do with the shoes you wear. Just about all the regular shoes on the market today will not give your arches enough support. This simple problem is not so simple. This will leave you back sore and in pain. This is why it is important for everyone to have shoes that support their arches. To correct this problem, get yourself a nice fitted pair of trainers.
The last step is simple and basic common sense. Exercise and weight control will help to eliminate your back problems With a healthy diet and plenty of exercise, along with active stretching you can eliminate most your back problems It is important for you to stretch daily and walk daily. Yoga is a great way to stay flexible and will help in reducing back pain Aerobics is another great way to reduce back pain Start with walking a few days a week for at least 15 minutes. Once your body is use to exercising, try jogging or speed walking. To keep you focused, try exercising with a friend. This way you each can motivate one another, and you won’t be opted to quit exercising.
By following these tips you can be on your way to a back pain free life in no time. Please keep in mind, these are just tips, and if you continue to have increased back pain after following these tips for more than a few weeks, you should seek the advice of a licensed doctor.

Ayurveda articles are related to holistic ayurvedic medicine, holistic health and holistic medicine related issues in this ancient system of medicine.Indian ayurvedic medicine has the potential to be the emerging platform for the holistic approach in medicine whether it is about some particular stream of alternative medicine or about the principles. Gradually as the understanding of ayurvedic principles will grow all over the world, people will see its use and benefit in their day to day living.
ayurveda Ayurveda, literally the “science of life and longevity” in ancient Sanskrit, is the oldest healing system in the world in continuous practice. It dates over 3000 years, with roots going back even further. It is the worlds first holistic system of health maintenance, based on lifestyle, diet and herbs. Generally, bitter tasteing herbs clear and cleanse, whereas sweeter herbs tend to be nourishing and rebuilding.
Ayurveda is based on an individual approach to correct imbalances before they develop into diseases. It relates to modern preventive medicine through five process to maintain optimum health : detoxification and cleansing, boosting the effectiveness of the immune system, helping the body cope with stress with adaptogenic herbs, protecting the body with antioxidants, and rejuvenative tonics that keep the body toned to retard the aging process.
Its foundations were laid down almost 5,000 years ago by the rishis, or wise sages, who methodically formulated the science by studying the fundamental physical, mental, social, and spiritual properties that support life. Roughly translating as ‘knowledge of life’, Ayurveda seeks to promote health and well-being by sustaining the ayus or life principle and prescribing therapeutic solutions to health-related problems.
Ayurveda translates in English to “knowledge of life” and closely relates to yoga. Ayurveda is a science of wellness for one’s health – both physical and mental – while yoga is the tool that people use to reach enlightenment and free their minds. Yoga and Ayurveda are lesser practices without one another, and if a person chooses to do yoga, they should look into Ayurveda as well. Please Purchase Online http://ayurvedasbeautycare.com

Holistic disease prevention is all about building and maintaining a strong immune system
by on Aug.23, 2010, under Preventative Medicine
“Holistic disease prevention is all about building and maintaining a strong immune system”
During the Roman Empire, Romans had an approximate life expectancy of 22 to 25 years. In 1900, the world life expectancy was approximately 30 years and in 1985 it was about 62 years. Life expectancy from birth is a frequently utilized and analyzed component of demographic data for the countries of the world. It represents the average life span of a newborn and is an indicator of the overall health of a country. The life expectancy rose rapidly in the twentieth century due to improvements in public health, nutrition and medicine and currently Andorra, San Marino, and Singapore along with Japan have the world’s highest life expectancies of 83.5, 82.1, 81.6 and 81.15, respectively. In Europe the life expectancy has reached an average of 78.6 years for men who were 50 in 2005, and 83.5 years for women. The highest average age is in Denmark and the lowest in Estonia.
A study found that productive health among seniors was directly linked to the wealth of the nation and it is also showed that a bit of preventive medicine in less-wealthy countries went a long way: “A one percent increase in spending on elderly care would result in a one-year increase in healthy life years.
Even though preventing measures constitute longer life expectancy the quality of life must be present for gratification. Quality of life differ for each individual throughout stages in life and is defined as one owns personal wellbeing, personal satisfaction with cultural and or intellectual condition and the ability to function in the ordinary tasks of living.
The imperative part of the definition is the personal wellbeing as this represent the heavy weight on the scale. Pain is a highly personal experience and interferes with the quality of a person’s life.
The immune system is a barometer of health and any return to a healthy state should involve immune enhancement. There is many way to enhance immune functions and by addressing diet, nutritional status, lifestyle hygiene, genetic uniqueness, environmental factors, and psychological factors such as mood and stress, one can improve resistance to disease and minimize the chance that invading microbes will gain foothold.
Education and the option for healthy choices are a great part of disease prevention and must be taught from childhood. In this respect parents do have a great responsibility in promoting and educating on healthy choices, which later in life only will benefit the child’s welfare. Sadly is it that the current trend shows that in many modern countries obesity and overweight children is on the raise. In the United States statistics showed 4% overweight children in 1982 compared to 1994 with 16% overweight children and in 2001 an escalation to a booming 25 % of overweight children. It is a clear pattern that today’s children are becoming more overweight and obese, which puts them at risk for serious health concerns such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and elevated cholesterol and blood pressure levels. In addition to the risk of obesity-related health concerns, poor food choices could lead to other health concerns, like osteoporosis from inadequate calcium intake.
Even though it is a common knowledge that today’s children is tomorrows future, the world in the developed countries are still with one foot in the mass grave for profits and with the other on giving the coming generation the best possibility for a descent healthy life. Many schools has however looked beyond the short term economic impact and are now taken part in the lunch programs. School lunches must meet the applicable recommendations of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, which state that no more than 30 percent of an individual’s calories come from fat, and less than 10 percent from saturated fat. Regulations also establish a standard for school lunches to provide one-third of the Recommended Dietary Allowances of protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, iron, calcium, and calories. School lunches must meet Federal nutrition requirements over the course of one week’s worth of lunches served, but decisions about what specific foods to serve and how they are prepared are made by local school food authorities.
Unhealthy school lunches are one of the contributors of malnutrition in the form of excessive consumption of unhealthy foods and as well as no education, or at least a very little part are of the children’s day-to-day learning.
