Reasons Why You Need To Get Your Child A Wetsuit This Summer

by on Jul.29, 2010, under Uncategorized

Its now summer so that means beach time. Children love playing in the sun and this is something they look forward to most during those long summer holidays. Summer is indeed the best time to enjoy with both family and friends at the beach and you need to make sure your kids are protected by wetsuits. Do remember that wetsuits provide insulation and protect children from the cold which is especially important if play they are playing regularly outside.

If you’re regularly going to the beach then cold water can be very dangerous because of the cold temperature of the water and as its summer kids normally want to play for longer. A wetsuit provides great protection against the cold and you can be reassured when your child is playing in the sea their body temperatures won’t be dropping to low

The majority of children wetsuits are made out of Neoprene and these a great material for insulation in water. Perhaps the most important consideration is the water temperature in which your child will be using his or her wetsuit. For extreme cold water you want to get 3/4 length wetsuit and maybe even hooded and at least 2mm think, if it is a warmer temperature then you can obviously go for a more lightweight suit.

As general rule also go with the major wetsuit brands this way you can guarantee you get quality, Billabong wetsuits are great for guys and I would recommend Roxy wetsuits for girls.

How a wetsuit fits is also very important. It is difficult to choose a perfectly fitting wetsuit for a fast-growing child. Although a wetsuit that fits too loosely may allow unwanted water to seep through, if budget is a concern it may be wise to air to the side of buying a slightly too-large suit that your child can grow into.
